Once I spontaneously tried to cook an interesting dish from what was in the refrigerator - eggplant with lard on the grill. The dish turned out to be simply incredible in taste with a haze aroma. Now no picnic is complete without this fragrant and juicy snack.

Make a fire in advance and let the coals burn out.

Cut the bacon into slices. Season with salt on both sides, add red and black pepper to taste.

Wash the eggplants thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. Cut across without cutting to the end. Pour a small amount of olive oil into each cut and lightly salt. Place a slice of bacon in each cut. Carefully pierce the eggplants so as not to damage them with a skewer.

Put the skewers with eggplant on the grill and cook for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally. While the eggplants are cooking, rinse the dill and cilantro greens thoroughly under running water, shake off excess moisture and chop finely with a sharp knife. Peel the garlic and rinse. Grate the peeled garlic on a fine grater or pass through a press.
