Hawthorn puree with sugar

Hawthorn is a very useful berry that contains a large amount of nutrients and has beneficial properties. A variety of medicinal fruit drinks, jams, compotes, marmalade and marshmallows are prepared from hawthorn fruits. Today we will prepare mashed hawthorn berries with sugar. Hawthorn berries are heat treated in just a few minutes, thus retaining their beneficial properties.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
We wash the hawthorn berries under running water and let them drain from the water.
step 2 out of 6
Put the pot of water on the fire, bring the water to a boil and throw the hawthorn into it.
step 3 out of 6
After the berries have boiled for 1-2 minutes, put them in a colander and rub them with a wooden spoon through a sieve.
step 4 out of 6
We throw away the cake from the berries, and put the resulting puree in a saucepan with water, where the hawthorn was cooked, and add sugar and citric acid. Bring the mass to a boil, remembering to stir all the time so that the mass does not burn to the bottom of the pan, and remove from heat.
step 5 out of 6
We lay out the finished hot mass in sterilized jars, close the lids and leave to cool at room temperature.
step 6 out of 6
After complete cooling, we transfer the jars for storage to a dark, cool place.
