During the lingonberry harvesting season, you can prepare such a sauce for future use, and in winter you, without much effort and opening a jar of lingonberry sauce, will make your dish perfect. For storage reliability, vinegar is added to the lingonberry sauce, in the proposed recipe - lime, and you can choose a set of seasonings to your liking.

Sort out the lingonberry berries, removing small debris and damaged fruits. Then rinse them with cold water and pat dry with a napkin.

Transfer the prepared lingonberries to the bowl of a blender or food processor.

Then add one pinch of black pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and ground ginger to the lingonberries.

Grind the spiced lingonberries until smooth. Choose the grinding time yourself, because someone likes small pieces of berries in the sauce.

Then in a separate bowl with a fine grater, remove the zest of one lime and squeeze out all the juice.

Then put the chopped lingonberries in a saucepan and cook over low heat for 7-10 minutes. By the end of cooking, transfer the zest and lime juice to it, stir and cook for a couple of minutes. For a thicker sauce, you can cook it longer so that some of the liquid evaporates.
