Lingonberries in their own juice with sugar for the winter

Lingonberry is one of the healthiest berries found in our climate. In its aftertaste, it has a unique bitterness that makes it stand out from all the berries. The recipe is simple and quick, not fancy ingredients.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
To begin with, we prepare the ingredients: we thoroughly rinse the berries under running water and transfer them to a colander, allowing all the water to drain. We measure out the required amount of sugar.
step 2 out of 5
Next, we shift the lingonberries into an enamel dish (a saucepan or a basin) and fill it with sugar on top.
step 3 out of 5
After a couple of minutes, the berries give enough juice to cover all the sugar. Bring the lingonberry and sugar mass to a boil over low heat, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon or spatula.
step 4 out of 5
You need to continue cooking for about 20-25 minutes, until a little thickening.
step 5 out of 5
Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. After that, we pour it into previously sterilized jars and roll it up. Bon Appetit!
