Tsar's gooseberry jam with cherries

A beautiful jam of a noble shade is obtained from gooseberries with the addition of a branch of cherry leaves. It has a pleasant neutral taste and is suitable for use in baking, as well as for consumption just like that.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 4
Sort out gooseberries from suppressed and overripe specimens, litter and insects. Wash the gooseberries, dry and chop each berry.
step 2 out of 4
Sprinkle the gooseberries with granulated sugar, adding a cherry branch there. Leave to brew for about 2 hours.
step 3 out of 4
Put a saucepan with berries over medium heat, bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Constantly stir and skim. After boiling, cook the treat for another 15 minutes. Remove the branch at the end from the jam, or, if desired, you can roll it up in one of the jars of jam.
step 4 out of 4
Pour hot royal jam into sterile clean jars and roll up with sterile lids using a special machine. Turn the jars upside down, cover with a warm cloth and let cool in this position to room temperature. After cooling down, take the dessert to the pantry or refrigerate.

Bon Appetit!
