Be very responsible when choosing berries for your compote. The blueberries must be fresh. If its smell is sour, refuse such a product. It should not be used in cooking. For compote, you can take both fresh and frozen berries. However, fresh blueberries will make the drink richer. First, you will have to carefully sort out the fruits, removing all the spoiled berries. Then pour the blueberries into a deep bowl. Fill it with water. Use a small cloth to remove any debris that has floated to the surface. After that, change the water and leave the berries in it for about 30 minutes. When the time is up, rinse the blueberries. Place a few paper towels on the table and sprinkle the berries on top of them. They will absorb all excess moisture from the surface of the fruit.

Let's move on to processing the lemon. Rinse it well in warm water. Optionally, you can use soap in this process. You do not need to peel the lemon. Slice it into rings and set it aside.

We will sterilize the jars with steam. First, we need to rinse them with baking soda or detergent. Pour some water into a saucepan and transfer it to the stove. When the water boils, scald the jar lids with boiling water. For steam sterilization, use a regular kettle or pot. However, it will be more convenient to carry out this process using a kettle. Fill it with water and put it on fire. When the water starts to boil, place the jar on the spout of the kettle so that steam gets into it. Leave it in this position for about 4-5 minutes. During this time, spread a tea towel on the table. Place the jars on top of it and leave them to dry.

For the compote, we will have to make sugar syrup. You only need to use 3 ingredients: granulated sugar, citric acid and water. Fill a pot with cold water. Put it on high heat. When the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat and start adding sugar gradually. Stir the syrup constantly so that the granulated sugar dissolves well. Send citric acid to the pan. This ingredient will help the compote to last until winter. Strain the finished sugar syrup. To carry out this process, use a piece of gauze or a sieve.
