This recipe for making berries with sugar is traditional. It is distinguished by its simplicity. You don't have to spend a lot of time on it. However, such a snack can definitely please you on a cold winter evening.
Ingredients
Cooking process
First, we need to go through the longest and most tedious process in preparation - sort out the berries. To speed up your work, add blueberries to a bowl or wide saucepan. Pour cold water over the berries. Various leaves will immediately rise to the surface of the water, as well as some living creatures that could remain in the berries. To pick up the rest of the debris, dip a piece of cloth into the water. With the help of it, you can remove everything that could remain on the surface of the water. Rinse the berries again. Transfer them to a colander and leave in it for about a minute. This will drain most of the water from the berries.
Check that all blueberries are good. One spoiled berry can devalue all your efforts. In order not to be left without berries in winter, look at blueberries several times. Place it on paper towels and leave to dry. You can also use a regular kitchen towel. Let the berries sit for half an hour. So the remaining liquid will drain from their surface. We will grind the berries using a sieve. Move the berries into it and begin to grind. As a result, you should have a smooth berry puree. Due to the fact that you use a sieve in the cooking process, the puree will turn out to be very tender.
We start processing cans. First, we need to sterilize them. We wash each jar in warm water. After that, scald them with boiling water. Fill the kettle with cold water. Transfer it to fire. When the water in the kettle starts to boil, place the jar on the spout so that it fills with steam. Leave it in this position for a couple of minutes. Then remove the jar from the kettle. Don't wipe the jar down too much. Place it on a kitchen towel and wait for it to dry on its own. After that, carefully inspect it for water droplets. If they end up on a jar or berries, the mashed potatoes will not be able to reach the winter and will deteriorate.
