A rich harvest of wild berries makes housewives think about preserving them for the winter. An excellent way to preserve the beneficial properties of the product and provide yourself with vitamins for the entire cold season is freezing. Freezing blueberries is very simple, you just need to follow the technology.
Ingredients
Cooking process
It is best if you freeze the blueberries yourself. In this case, you will be absolutely confident in the quality of the final product. For freezing, blueberries of medium ripeness are ideal. Greenish and overripe berries are not so tasty. And if you freeze whole berries, then overripe specimens will not keep their shape. Sort the blueberries thoroughly before freezing. Remove all debris (leaves, twigs, needles, etc.), spoiled berries. Also get rid of the stalks.
There is a difference of opinion as to whether it is necessary to rinse blueberries before freezing them. It's up to you to decide. But keep in mind that with subsequent use, you will not be able to wash, neither whole frozen berries, nor even pureed ones. For this reason, it is best to rinse the blueberries immediately before freezing and then dry them by sprinkling them on paper towels. This will get rid of excess moisture.
Divide the sugar and blueberry puree into small containers. This will allow you to defrost the required amount of blueberries later, rather than the entire large container. After all, it is undesirable to re-freeze the berry. Close containers with airtight lids and place in the freezer. It's so easy to freeze a healthy and tasty berry, and in winter you can get a whole storehouse of useful microelements and vitamins preserved in it.
Bon Appetit!
