Chicken tobacco on the electric grill

Chicken tobacco on an electric grill is an option for preparing a Georgian traditional dish adapted to our realities. Not everyone has a special frying pan with a press, and the electric grill perfectly replaces it. The appliance lids squeeze the chicken and fry it on both sides at the same time - saving you time. To make the bird juicy and aromatic, marinate it in lemon juice and onions with spices. Before frying, do not forget to remove all pieces of marinade products so that there is no burning.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
We wash the chickens, dry them with a towel and cut them along the sternum, without touching the back. We open the carcasses in a horizontal layer. Peel and cut onions into rings. Peel the garlic and chop it. Put the prepared chickens in a wide container. Pour lemon juice on them, pour salt, ground coriander, black pepper on onions. We mix everything with our hands, trying to simultaneously distribute the spices among the carcasses. We leave them for three to four hours for pickling.
step 2 out of 5
After the specified time has elapsed, we take out the carcasses, remove all the leftover onions from them so that they do not burn when frying. With a kitchen hammer or fist, we beat off the chickens in the joints and bones. This will make them flatter and more pliable. In addition, sprinkle the carcasses with black pepper and a small amount of ground coriander.
step 3 out of 5
We heat the grill to a hot state, grease the plates with vegetable oil using a silicone brush. Put the prepared chickens on the grill, close the lid and cook at high power for ten to fifteen minutes. From time to time, during frying, we press the top lid with our hand to press down on the carcasses.
step 4 out of 5
If there is any doubt about the readiness of the bird, we pierce the thigh with a thin knife and evaluate the color of the juice coming out. If the liquid is completely clear, the carcass is ready. If there is a pink admixture of blood, continue cooking a little more.
step 5 out of 5
Put the finished tobacco chickens on a plate and serve hot with fresh vegetables and herbs.

Bon Appetit!
