Ketchup is a popular and beloved sauce. It goes well with potatoes, meat dishes, pasta. Homemade ketchup is doubly delicious. In the midst of a ripe tomato harvest, preparing such ketchup for the winter will not be difficult. And even children will be able to appreciate its taste!

Wash tomatoes and apples thoroughly. For apples, it is necessary to remove the core, in tomatoes - the stalk. Peel the onions. Cut the prepared ingredients into small cubes.

Place the chopped food in a suitable saucepan and heat. Cook over moderate heat until the tomatoes, apples, and onions are tender.

After a while, the contents of the pan will start up juice. Use a fork to pull out a slice of apple and taste it. If it has become soft enough, then it's time to grind all the ingredients into a homogeneous mass.

Armed with a hand blender, beat the tomatoes, apples and onions into a smooth puree. Next, boil the resulting mass for 40 minutes, not forgetting to stir. After that, add granulated sugar, salt and spices to taste (this can be ground pepper, paprika, etc.) to the contents of the pan. We also pour in vinegar. Mix everything thoroughly and keep on fire for another 10 minutes.

Distribute the finished ketchup into sterilized jars and close the lids tightly. Leave it upside down under a warm cloth until it cools completely. Then we move the ketchup to a cool place for storage.
