Homemade ketchup with apples

Almost no meat dishes are complete without sauce, it complements and enhances the taste of products. Probably the most popular of all sauces is tomato ketchup. At home, you yourself can cook delicious and natural tomato ketchup and prepare it for the winter.

Take ripe tomatoes, wash them and cut them into large wedges, transfer them to a large saucepan.

Wash the apples, remove the core with seeds and cut the pulp into small cubes, transfer them to the saucepan with the tomatoes.

Peel the onions and garlic. Cut large cloves into several parts, cut the onion into cubes.

Place a pot of vegetables over medium heat. After the vegetable mass has boiled, reduce the heat and cook for another 1 hour without closing the lid. Let the mixture cool slightly, then rub it through a fine sieve. This will get rid of seeds and leftover skins.

Add salt, sugar, pepper and vinegar to the vegetable puree. Bring the mass to a boil, cook for 10 minutes, then immediately spread the finished ketchup into clean sterilized jars, screw the jars tightly with lids.

Cool the ketchup to room temperature. Then a couple of cans can be put in the refrigerator so that the ketchup is always at hand, and the rest can be lowered into the cellar for storage.
