Jam from red cherry plum for the winter

Jam from red cherry plum turns out to be of a bright saturated color, with sourness. Great for baking fillings. We suggest using pectin to obtain the optimum density. Add it at the end of cooking, after mixing it with a little sugar.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
We wash the cherry plum well, sort out the spoiled fruits. We cut each fruit in half and remove the bone.
step 2 out of 5
Put the prepared peeled cherry plum into a saucepan, add granulated sugar, put a cinnamon stick for flavoring. We leave the mixture for an hour to extract juice.
step 3 out of 5
Then we mix the fruits with sugar and put on the stove. Bring the mass to a boil. We reduce the fire and cook the cherry plum for thirty minutes. Throw out the cinnamon sticks.
step 4 out of 5
Mix the pectin and one tablespoon of granulated sugar separately. Pour this mixture into the jam, mix thoroughly and cook for another three to four minutes. We remove from the stove.
step 5 out of 5
Wash and sterilize jars and lids. Pour the finished hot jam into sterile jars. We tighten the lids, let cool completely. We remove the jam for storage in a dark, cool place. After cooling, the jam will thicken.
Bon Appetit!
