Blackcurrant jam with blender

The advantage of making blackcurrant jam using a blender is that you can get a completely homogeneous jam without grinding through a sieve. After all, it is known that not everyone loves berries or their parts in such a delicacy. Pectin will be used in the preparation for speedy thickening.

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
Sort out currants from twigs, leaves, broken and rotten berries. Wash in running water several times, put on a sieve, allow time for the moisture to leave and the berries to dry. You can remove dry beaks first, but this is not necessary.
step 2 out of 7
Grind the berries with an immersion or stationary blender.
step 3 out of 7
Mix granulated sugar with pectin, mix very thoroughly and add to the berry puree, once again go through the blender.
step 4 out of 7
Pour the resulting homogeneous mass into a saucepan with a thick bottom and walls, bring to a boil, stirring constantly and skimming off the foam.
step 5 out of 7
After boiling, cook the jam for 3 minutes, no more.
step 6 out of 7
Pour the treat into pre-sterilized jars, tighten hermetically with sterile screw caps.
step 7 out of 7
Cool the workpieces upside down under a warm blanket and store them in a basement or dark cabinet. Consume within 1 year.
