Red currant jam with agar-agar

Red currant jam is a natural vitamin preparation for the winter. Due to the fact that it contains agar-agar, it turns out to be thick and rich. This natural thickener, agar-agar, is very beneficial for the body, so this jam can be used even by young children.

Sort the berries from the twigs, wash and put in the bowl of a food processor, chop until a thick puree. You can also grind the berries with a meat grinder or grind with a crush.

Add sugar to the puree, mix well with a spoon, leave for 30-50 minutes to completely dissolve the sugar.

Put agar-agar in a bowl, cover with cold water, leave for 30-40 minutes.

Transfer the berry mass to a saucepan, put on low heat and simmer for 23-26 minutes.

Pour the jelly mass from agar-agar into a saucepan, bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

To the boiled berry mass, add the liquid heated mass with agar-agar, mix and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly, but not bringing to a boil.

Sterilize the jars, pour jam over them, roll up. Turn the jars of jam upside down, cover with a blanket and leave to cool, then send to a cool place for storage.
