Red currant jam with orange

Unusual red currant and orange jam will be a pleasant addition to tea and homemade cakes. Oranges can be used with the zest, and so that the jam does not taste bitter, hold the fruit a little in the freezer.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Sort out the red currants, remove the berries from the branches, wash and discard in a colander so that the liquid is glass. Then mince the berries.
step 2 out of 5
Wash the oranges, cut into pieces and remove the seeds. Grind oranges in a meat grinder as well.
step 3 out of 5
Transfer the currant and orange puree to a large bowl and cover with sugar. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and leave for 30 minutes to release the juice and dissolve the sugar. During this time, mix the berry mass several times.
step 4 out of 5
Transfer the mixture to a saucepan, put on fire, simmer until boiling, then reduce heat and cook jam for another 10 minutes, stir occasionally and scoop out the foam.
step 5 out of 5
Spread hot jam on dry sterilized jars, roll them up. Thanks to the pectin contained in currant berries, the jam will thicken after cooling.
Bon Appetit!
