Plum jam with pectin

Jam from plums has a thick, uniform consistency and an amazing aroma. It does not spread and is therefore great for homemade baking.

Sort out the plums, leave only dense ripe fruits. Wash them under running water, dry them, cut them in half and remove the seeds.

Transfer the halves of the berries to a container for making jam, add water and cover them with sugar. For jam, it is better to use stainless steel or enamelled pots.

Cover the pan with a lid, put on low heat, bring the berry mass to a boil, remove the foam from its surface with a spoon. Simmer the jam for 25-30 minutes.

Remove the pan from heat, cool the mixture a little and then grind it with a blender.

Then put the jam on the stove again and cook for another 30-40 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the pectin 5 minutes before the end, stir.

Spread hot jam in sterilized jars, roll up with metal lids. Store jam in a cool, dry place.
