Minced hedgehogs with rice and gravy in a slow cooker

A multicooker makes the life of housewives much easier by simplifying cooking. It takes a little effort to make juicy minced meatballs in gravy. You just need to form meatballs and prepare the frying of vegetables. The rest will be done by this wonderful device: thanks to high-quality heating from all sides, the dish is cooked quite quickly and evenly. The rice in the minced meat will boil down and the meat balls will look like hedgehogs. The whole family will love these meatballs.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Minced meat for the preparation of "hedgehogs" can be used any: pork, beef, chicken or mixed options. One has only to bear in mind that the structure of the meat mass must be very fine so that the finished meatballs turn out to be tender. If minced meat is prepared at home, then you should use the smallest grinder grate. When buying ready-made minced meat, pay attention to the degree of mincing of the meat and choose the maximum one. Put the minced meat in a bowl and add the previously washed and dried raw rice to it. Season the mass with salt and black pepper to taste and mix thoroughly. If the minced meat is crumbly and not viscous enough, beat it for a couple of minutes on the bottom of the bowl. From the prepared mass we form round meatballs, rolling them well between the palms and compacting them.
step 2 out of 5
Peel, wash and dry carrots and onions. Cut the onions into small cubes, grate the carrots with large holes. Pour vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl and set the "Fry" mode. Dip the prepared vegetables into the heated oil and fry them with occasional stirring, until the carrots become soft and begin to brown slightly.
step 3 out of 5
Add tomato sauce, salt and black pepper to taste to the bowl. Pour in the indicated amount of hot water and mix everything together. We close the lid of the device and wait for the gravy to boil.
step 4 out of 5
Dip the formed meatballs into the boiling gravy and close the lid again. Choose the "Soup" or "Stew" mode, in which the "hedgehogs" will be cooked for forty minutes at a boil of medium activity.
step 5 out of 5
When the signal sounds about the end of the cooking time, turn off the multicooker, and let the dish brew a little with the lid closed. This will make the taste richer. Then we lay out the hot "hedgehogs" on plates along with the gravy and serve with any side dish.

Bon Appetit!
