Minced hedgehogs with rice in sour cream sauce in the oven

The oven significantly helps to facilitate the process of preparing many dishes and save time in the kitchen. All cooking comes down to the fact that you need to form a semi-finished product and put it in a baking dish. The rest of the process takes place behind the hot door of this irreplaceable assistant, virtually without our participation. Juicy "hedgehogs" with rice in a tender sour cream sauce can also be easily cooked in the oven. If the minced meat is already ready, then a minimum of effort is required.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
We wash the rice under running water and boil until half cooked in slightly salted water. It will be enough to boil it for ten minutes. Then we throw the cereal into a colander, pour over it with cold water and let it drain. Peel, wash and dry onions and carrots. Cut the onion into small cubes and finely grate the carrots. Put the minced meat in a large bowl, add chopped onions and carrots to it, break the egg, add a mixture of spices for cutlets, salt and ground black pepper. Knead the mass with your hands or a spoon until relatively homogeneous.
step 2 out of 7
We form round meatballs from the prepared minced meat. To prevent the mass from sticking to your hands, moisten your palms with cold water. We roll each ball well in our hands so that it becomes smooth. Grease the baking dish with a small amount of vegetable oil and put the future "hedgehogs" in it close to each other.
step 3 out of 7
To prepare sour cream sauce, put sour cream, mayonnaise, curry and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl.
step 4 out of 7
Mix everything together with a spoon until smooth, then pour in 150 ml of water and mix again.
step 5 out of 7
Pour the meatballs laid in the form with the prepared sour cream sauce. Rub the hard cheese on a coarse grater and evenly pour it over the sauce on the meatballs.
step 6 out of 7
Preheat the oven to a temperature of 190 degrees and put the dish on the middle-lower level. We bake the dish for approximately fifty minutes. The sauce on the surface should be crusty and noticeably browned.
step 7 out of 7
We take the form with ready-made "hedgehogs" out of the oven and serve. The meatballs combined with the sauce are quite satisfying, so a light vegetable salad can be served as a side dish.

Bon Appetit!
