Pea porridge on the water in a slow cooker

I often cook pea soup, but here I really wanted pea porridge. Today I want to share a gorgeous recipe for pea porridge cooked in water in a slow cooker. The porridge turns out to be fragrant and very appetizing. This side dish is a great option for a hearty family dinner.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Rinse dry split peas thoroughly several times under cold running water, then put them in a deep container and cover with cold water. Leave to soak for a couple of hours. If you have time, leave it overnight.
step 2 out of 5
Peel the onions and rinse in running water, finely chop. Heat the pan well over moderate heat, brush with vegetable oil. Add pre-chopped onions and fry until softened.
step 3 out of 5
Put the presoaked and washed peas on the bottom of the multicooker. Pour in drinking water. Close the cover. Set the Stew program on the appliance panel, the cooking time is 40 minutes. After the sound signal, mash the pea porridge in mashed potatoes.
step 4 out of 5
Add salt, fried onions and butter to the resulting puree. Close the lid and cook on the same program for another 20 minutes. Stir the porridge. Close the instrument cover. Set the "Heating" mode and leave the porridge for another 20 minutes.
step 5 out of 5
Serve delicate fragrant pea porridge, cooked in a slow cooker in water, in portions, decorating with pre-washed fresh herbs. You can supplement the porridge with meat or fish. It all depends on your own preference.
