Pea porridge with smoked ribs

Those who love delicious food and do not count calories are encouraged to cook pea porridge with smoked ribs. If you want the porridge to be crumbly, take peas and water in a ratio of 1: 2, and for porridge of medium density - 1: 3. Be sure to soak the peas for porridge for several hours. Although the recipe is simple, the dish is delicious.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Soak the peas for porridge in cold water for 3 hours, and preferably overnight.
step 2 out of 5
Peel and chop the onion into small pieces. In a bowl for boiling pea porridge (cauldron or a saucepan with a thick bottom), heat a little vegetable oil and fry the onion in it until a light ruddy color. Cut the smoked ribs into pieces and transfer to the fried onions. Sprinkle everything with sugar and black pepper and sauté the ribs over high heat for 5-7 minutes.
step 3 out of 5
Then transfer the soaked peas to these fried ingredients, rinsing them several times with water. Then pour hot water into the cauldron in a ratio of 3: 1 to peas. Sprinkle the dish with salt to your liking. Set the heat to a minimum under the cauldron and cook the pea porridge with the lid closed for 1 hour.
step 4 out of 5
After an hour, open the cauldron and stir the porridge, as boiled peas can stick to the walls of the cauldron. Simmer the porridge for another 30 minutes until the peas are fully cooked.
step 5 out of 5
Leave the cooked pea porridge with smoked pork ribs under a closed lid for 15 minutes to infuse, then you can serve. If you wish, you can pour olive oil over the porridge and serve fresh vegetables with it.
Bon Appetit!
