Not sure what to cook with peas? There is a great option that does not require anything tricky, complicated and troublesome - the good old pea puree. If you cook it in a multicooker, then the process, in fact, does not even require your participation. All you need to do is toss the peas into the bowl, fill it with water and press the button for the desired program. Next, we will do everything ourselves, a smart device. If you want the pea puree to cook faster, then it is better to soak the peas first - for five to six hours. If soaking is neglected, then the peas will be cooked to the desired softness for at least two hours.
Ingredients
Cooking process
Any peas are suitable for mashed potatoes - chopped, crushed, whole. We put it in a colander and rinse well under running water. It is necessary to rinse until the water runs off completely clean and stops foaming. It is important to pay due attention to rinsing, since it is well-washed raw materials that are cooked without foam and give a clean soft puree.
The washed peas can be poured over with cold water and left to soak for six to seven hours. Then the cooking time will be reduced by an hour. If there is no time for soaking, then you can boil the peas right away. The cooking time in this case will be at least two hours. Pour the prepared peas into the multicooker bowl.
Pour in hot water in the specified amount. We mix. The liquid should cover the peas by about one and a half to two centimeters. Add salt to taste. We close the device with a lid and turn on the "Stew" mode for one hour (if the peas have been soaked) or for two hours (if the peas are not soaked). We press "Start".
After the time of the set program has elapsed, turn off the multicooker. We open the lid: the peas softened noticeably, became loose and brightened. If you notice that the peas are not yet completely soft, then increase the stewing time by another thirty to forty minutes. Add more hot water if necessary.
Put a piece of butter in a bowl for the finished peas and mix the mass well with a wooden spatula. We do this intensively so that the soft peas break into pieces and turn into mashed potatoes. We taste the resulting puree and, if necessary, add more salt. Hot mashed potatoes have a rather liquid consistency. However, if you let it stand for a while, the puree thickens and stops spreading.
Bon Appetit!
