Pea puree with onions in a slow cooker

Pea puree is very nutritious and high in protein. Very versatile: this puree can be served as a hearty side dish, or as an independent dish, for example, accompanied by vegetables. Cooking the pea puree in a saucepan on the stove is a bit of a hassle as it takes constant attention to keep it from sticking. In a multicooker, the process is simplified at times: I threw in the ingredients, closed the lid and forgot. To give the puree additional flavoring notes, we will separately make a frying with onions - it goes well with peas.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
Place the peas in a sieve and rinse well under running cold water. We rinse it until the water stops foaming and flows out completely clean. It is very important to thoroughly rinse the peas - then the puree will turn out clean, without scale. Place the washed peas in a bowl, fill with cold water and leave to soak for five to seven hours. Convenient to leave overnight.
step 2 out of 8
After soaking, the peas absorb water, swell and grow in size. Put it back in the sieve and rinse it again.
step 3 out of 8
We spread the prepared peas in a dry multicooker bowl. Pour in the specified amount of hot water. The liquid should completely cover the peas. We close the multicooker with a lid and turn on the "Quenching" mode for two hours.
step 4 out of 8
While the peas are cooking, we fry them with onions. Peel the onions, rinse, dry and cut into small cubes. We clean, wash, dry the carrots, cut them into small cubes or, as an option, three on a coarse grater.
step 5 out of 8
In a separate frying pan, heat a small amount of odorless vegetable oil. First, pour out the chopped onions and fry them with stirring until transparent. Then add the carrots, stir and continue to fry until the vegetables begin to lightly golden. It is important not to overcook the mixture, as in this case the frying can be bitter. If we do not fry it, then we will not get the characteristic “mushroom” flavor.
step 6 out of 8
When the time of the set program is over, open the multicooker - the peas should be completely boiled and soft. Mix it with a spatula so that a puree is formed - the peas are soft and easily break up into small pieces. To the resulting puree we put frying with onions and carrots. Add salt and black pepper to taste. We mix. The puree is ready.
step 7 out of 8
We spread the pea puree into portioned plates. We wash the green onions, dry them and chop finely with a knife. Sprinkle the surface of the puree with herbs and serve it hot. As you can see in the photo, the hot puree is a little watery and spreads over the plate.
step 8 out of 8
If you let the puree stand a little, literally ten to fifteen minutes, it will noticeably thicken and become a little denser.
Bon Appetit!
