Pea soup with smoked bacon

It is with great pleasure that I want to share an interesting recipe for a gorgeous pea soup made with smoked bacon. The first dish turns out to be unusually tasty, satisfying and rich. A great option for a family lunch.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 9
Take the required amount of uncooked smoked bacon.
step 2 out of 9
Cut the uncooked smoked bacon into slices and place in a well-heated dry frying pan.
step 3 out of 9
Fry on all sides until the color changes, stirring occasionally.
step 4 out of 9
Rinse the split peas thoroughly several times under running water, and then put in the hot broth. If desired, you can soak the peas in a baking soda solution overnight. This will make it cook faster.
step 5 out of 9
Wash and peel potatoes, cut into cubes. Put the potatoes and peas in a pot of boiling water. Bring to a boil again. Season with salt, simmer for 30-40 minutes.
step 6 out of 9
Then add the sautéed raw smoked bacon and bay leaf.
step 7 out of 9
Peel the onions and garlic and chop finely. Peel the carrots and grate them on a coarse grater. Fry the carrots and onions until soft in the pan in which the bacon was fried. Wash and chop the greens. Add chopped garlic and herbs to the pan. Stir.
step 8 out of 9
Put the cooked roast into the soup. Bring to a boil. Add black ground pepper, simmer for 10-15 minutes. Cover the pan with a lid and leave on the switched off burner to infuse for 30 minutes.
step 9 out of 9
Serve fragrant pea soup with smoked bacon in portions. Serve sour cream additionally.

Bon Appetit!
