Pea soup with smoked chicken leg

Today I want to share a gorgeous recipe for an unusually aromatic and bright-tasting pea soup with smoked chicken leg. An appetizing soup can be prepared for family gatherings or a friendly lunch. To prepare the dish, you will need the simplest and most affordable ingredients.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
Separate the smoked chicken legs from the bones. Peel the onions and cut them in half. Place the prepared ingredients in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
step 2 out of 7
Rinse the split peas thoroughly several times under running water, and then put in a saucepan. If desired, you can soak the peas in a baking soda solution. This will make it cook faster. Fill with cold water.
step 3 out of 7
Salt a little, add bay leaves and black peppercorns. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and cook, covered, for about 1 hour. Then remove the onion.
step 4 out of 7
Wash the potatoes and peel them with a vegetable peeler. Cut the peeled potatoes into cubes. Send to soup. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
step 5 out of 7
Peel the other half of the onion, rinse in cold water and cut into cubes. Wash and peel the carrots using a vegetable peeler. Then grate on a coarse grater. Put the vegetables in a greased frying pan and fry until soft.
step 6 out of 7
Send the prepared frying to the soup, add black ground pepper. Bring soup to a boil and remove from heat.
step 7 out of 7
Rinse the greens thoroughly and shake off excess moisture. Pour the pea soup with smoked chicken leg into portions, garnish with herbs and serve at the dinner table.

Bon Appetit!
