Pear jam with lemon wedges for the winter

Pear is an incredibly tasty fruit that can be used to make jam, confiture and compote. Today we will deal with the preparation of delicious pear jam with the addition of lemon. Lemon gives the jam a wonderful citrus aroma, subtle acidity and acts as a natural preservative. We will cook the jam in several stages, each time only bringing it to a boil, so the hard pears that we will use for jam retain their shape and the jam remains transparent.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
For jam, it is necessary to select ripe hard pears of good quality. We rinse them under cool running water and put them on a kitchen towel so that they dry from the water.
step 2 out of 7
Pour sugar into a saucepan with a thick bottom and pour water, put on low heat and, while stirring, bring to a boil. After the syrup has boiled, boil it for 3-5 minutes and remove from heat.
step 3 out of 7
Using a vegetable cutter, peel the pears, cut in half and remove the stalks and core. Cut the pears into small slices.
step 4 out of 7
Put the prepared pears in hot syrup and put the pan on low heat, start heating the mass.
step 5 out of 7
At this time, we wash the lemon, cut off the amount we need, cut it in half and remove the seeds. Cut the lemon into small cubes along with the peel.
step 6 out of 7
Add lemon to jam, stir and bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Cover the pan with a cotton towel and leave to cool completely at room temperature. Then put on fire again, bring to a boil and remove from heat. We carry out this procedure 3-4 times.
step 7 out of 7
After the last boil, lay out the jam on sterilized jars, tighten with boiled lids and turn the jars upside down. Cover the jars of jam with a terry towel or blanket and leave to cool completely at room temperature. Then we remove the jam for storage in a dark, cool place.
