Goose with honey and oranges in the oven

Goose baked in the oven with oranges takes time and energy to cook, but for the sake of a delicious festive dish for the housewives, this is not a hindrance for their loved ones. The acidity of the orange gives the goose meat its softness and juiciness, and the honey gives it a ruddy caramelized crust. This goose is served with potatoes, boiled vegetables or just a delicious sauce.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
First, prepare all the ingredients for this dish. Properly process a previously thawed or fresh goose carcass: remove the remnants of feathers, excess fat and wing phalanges. Then rinse the goose well and pat dry with a tea towel.
step 2 out of 8
Pour the soy sauce into a separate bowl, add the amount of honey, salt, black pepper and vegetable oil indicated in the recipe to it and mix well.
step 3 out of 8
Spread the inside and outside of the carcass with half the sauce and place in a cold marinating place for 1 hour. Then, after an hour, rub the carcass thoroughly with the remaining sauce, especially rubbing it into the breast area.
step 4 out of 8
Peel off the rind of washed oranges so that the dish does not taste bitter, divide them into slices and remove the white partitions with seeds.
step 5 out of 8
Place the orange slices in the belly of the goose. Leave the carcass at room temperature for 1 hour, as the meat inside may remain damp when baking chilled poultry.
step 6 out of 8
Then place the prepared carcass in the culinary sleeve, remove the air from it as much as possible and fix the ends firmly. Transfer the goose to a baking sheet and place in the oven, preheated to 220 ° C, for 2 hours. Remember to puncture the bag in several places to avoid bursting.
step 7 out of 8
After this time, carefully cut the sleeve and hold the goose in the oven for another 15–20 minutes until golden brown. If some of the spots will burn, cover them with pieces of foil.
step 8 out of 8
Cool the baked goose with honey and orange a little, transfer to a large platter, decorate to your liking and serve. Already on the table, cut the goose into portions.

Bon Appetit!
