How to quickly pickle mackerel in brine in pieces

Everyone in our family loves fish. I often pickle mackerel myself for family holidays. Today I want to share one of my favorite recipes for salted mackerel, cooked in brine in pieces. The cold appetizer turns out to be incredibly tasty.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients for pickling the mackerel.
step 2 out of 8
Prepare the marinade. Pour the required amount of cold water into a saucepan. Put on moderate heat and bring to a boil. Then add granulated sugar, salt, black peppercorns, allspice and bay leaf. Boil for just a couple of minutes and remove from heat. Cool completely.
step 3 out of 8
In the meantime, peel the freshly frozen mackerel of fins, tails and head, carefully remove the entrails and films.
step 4 out of 8
Rinse the prepared mackerel under running water, and then pat dry with paper towels and cut into small pieces of the same size.
step 5 out of 8
Prepare a glass jar and place the chopped mackerel pieces in it.
step 6 out of 8
Top with completely cooled marinade. Close the jar with a lid and place in the refrigerator for a day.
step 7 out of 8
After the time has passed, remove the mackerel from the brine and pat dry with paper towels and place on a plate.
step 8 out of 8
Serve the appetizing fish on the table with onions, if desired, you can pour a small amount of unrefined vegetable oil.

Enjoy a delicious snack!
