How to salt mackerel with onion slices

I want to share a simple and very appetizing recipe for salted mackerel, cooked in pieces with onions. Cold appetizer turns out to be unusually tasty and aromatic. Such a fish will definitely please everyone. Cook and you will have an unforgettable pleasure!

Peel the onions and cut into half rings.

Peel freshly frozen mackerel from fins, tails and head, carefully remove the entrails and films. Rinse the prepared mackerel under running water, and then pat dry with paper towels and cut into small pieces of the same size.

Prepare a glass jar and place the chopped mackerel and onion pieces in it, alternating between them.

Pour cold water into a saucepan. Put on fire and bring to a boil. Then add granulated sugar, salt, black peppercorns, allspice, cloves, coriander seeds and bay leaf. Boil for just a couple of minutes and remove from heat. Cool completely.

Pour vegetable oil into a jar, fill with completely cooled marinade. Close the jar with a lid and place in the refrigerator for a day.
