How to cook wheat porridge in water in a saucepan on the stove

It is with great pleasure that I want to share a simple and quick, in my opinion, recipe for a delicious, satisfying and aromatic wheat porridge cooked in water in a saucepan. A great option for a family Sunday breakfast.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients for cooking wheat porridge in water in a saucepan.
step 2 out of 8
Measure out the amount of wheat grits indicated in the recipe. I always use a kitchen scale. Rinse the weighed wheat groats thoroughly in running water several times to make the water clear.
step 3 out of 8
Then measure out the required amount of drinking water. Pour into a saucepan or stewpan, add a little salt.
step 4 out of 8
Lay out the prepared wheat grits.
step 5 out of 8
Put on low heat and bring to a boil.
step 6 out of 8
Then reduce the heat to the minimum state and cook the wheat porridge for 20-25 minutes. When the water is absorbed, the porridge will swell and be ready.
step 7 out of 8
Add the required amount of butter to the finished porridge.
step 8 out of 8
Arrange the cooked wheat porridge on portioned plates. Top with an extra piece of butter. Stir well before serving.

Enjoy the creamy wheat porridge!
