Karelian pie with lingonberries and apples

To begin with, an unleavened dough is made from rye and wheat flour with kefir. It is divided into parts and "gates" are molded from it. Inside is filled with lingonberry, apple, sugar and starch filling. Everything is baked for 15-20 minutes.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
We start by making the dough. In a deep bowl, mix rye and wheat flour with a pinch of salt. Then pour in kefir and knead the elastic dough. You can knead it by hand or using a combine.
step 2 out of 7
Cover the dough with a towel and let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes. At this time, we prepare lingonberries. Thoroughly rinse them under running water and put them in a colander so that all excess liquid is glass.
step 3 out of 7
Pour half of the berries with sugar into a separate container and lightly crush them with a fork, spoon or mashed potatoes. Next, add the rest of the lingonberries, cornstarch and mix. Rinse the apple, peel, cut out the core and grate, add to the berries and mix again.
step 4 out of 7
Divide the dough into equal pieces, each of which is rolled out in the form of an oval with a thickness of 4-5 mm. You can also make a whole pie without cutting the dough.
step 5 out of 7
We spread part of the filling on each of the blanks and pinch the edges in the form of a "gate". The top should look like a sun or a gear.
step 6 out of 7
We transfer the pies to a greased baking sheet and put in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for 15-20 minutes. The dough should brown well and the filling should thicken.
step 7 out of 7
Let the finished products cool down and serve with tea or coffee. Bon Appetit!
