Classic sauerkraut hodgepodge with sausages

Sauerkraut solyanka with sausages, as a long-known and time-tested dish of Polish and Russian cuisine, has its fans today. According to the classics, the hodgepodge is prepared with roasting vegetables and adding pickled cucumbers and tomatoes, and sausages have proven themselves in many dishes. In this recipe, you are invited to add some potatoes to the hodgepodge to make it more satisfying, but you can do without it. You can cook the hodgepodge in a skillet or in a slow cooker.

First, prepare the ingredients for making the hodgepodge in the amount indicated in the recipe. Rinse the sauerkraut with cold water so that it is not too sour, and cut it a little with a knife. Chop the onion into thin quarter rings.

Cut the peeled potatoes and two pickles into small cubes.

Sausages, better smoked, peel and cut into circles, just not very thin.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet, transfer sauerkraut and chopped onions into it. Fry them for 7-10 minutes with constant stirring so that the cabbage does not burn.
