Strawberries in syrup without sterilization for the winter

The strawberries according to this recipe are so tender and juicy that they just melt in your mouth! The berry harvested for the winter in this way is completely different from jam: the fruits remain intact, retaining their unique taste and aroma.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
We thoroughly wash the strawberries under running water, removing all the spoiled berries, remove the green tails.
step 2 out of 5
Next, we discard the fruits in a colander, let all the water drain. Transfer the dried strawberries to clean jars.
step 3 out of 5
We start preparing sugar syrup: pour water into an enamel bowl and add sugar, put on a slow fire, stirring constantly.
step 4 out of 5
During the cooking process, small air bubbles will begin to appear on the syrup, at this moment we make the fire minimal and continue cooking for no more than 5 minutes. A minute before cooking, add citric acid and mix thoroughly with a wooden spatula. If foam appears, we remove it.
step 5 out of 5
Pour strawberries with hot syrup and close the lid tightly. Pre-sterilization of the cans is not required if you have washed the container thoroughly enough. After cooling, we store it in a refrigerator. Bon Appetit!
