Strawberries in their own juice with sugar for the winter

Strawberries harvested for the winter in this way retain the maximum amount of vitamins and practically do not lose their natural taste. The berries remain intact, keep their shape, and the syrup turns out to be unpleasant, with a natural taste. We recommend storing the workpiece in a cool, dark place.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
We sort out the strawberries, discard the defective specimens, remove the sepals. Place the prepared berries in a sieve and rinse thoroughly in running water. Let the washed berries dry a little by sprinkling them on a clean, dry towel.
step 2 out of 6
Put the dried strawberries in clean, dry jars. It is convenient to use containers of 500 milliliters. Pour granulated sugar on top of the berries (distribute the sugar in even portions according to the number of cans). We put the jars with strawberries and sugar in the refrigerator overnight to extract juice.
step 3 out of 6
After the specified time has elapsed, the strawberries will release juice and settle - there will be space in the jars. Distribute berries with syrup from one jar over the rest to fill the container. Close loosely with clean, dry lids.
step 4 out of 6
Now we proceed to sterilization. Put jars of strawberries in a wide saucepan or basin and pour in water in such an amount that it reaches the level of their "shoulders". We put on the stove and bring to a boil.
step 5 out of 6
We boil for ten minutes. Then we take out the cans one at a time and tighten the lids. If undissolved sugar is visible, you can gently twist the jar until the crystals dissolve.
step 6 out of 6
We put the cooled jars with strawberries in a cool dark place for storage.
Bon Appetit!
