Apricot and cherry compote for 1 liter jar for the winter

Store-bought drinks will never be equal in composition to homemade compotes, for which you can choose fruits and berries according to your taste preferences, as well as vary the amount of added sugar. In this recipe, you are offered a mix of cherries and apricots, sourness and sweetness.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Prepare all the necessary products and containers for seaming compote. Rinse the jars with baking soda, and then sterilize in the oven or microwave (if sterilizing in the microwave, pour a little water inside the jar). Scald the lids with boiling water.
step 2 out of 5
Sort the apricots. Ripe and firm fruits are best for making compote. Never use spoiled fruits. Rinse them under running water and pat dry with towels. Cut each apricot in half and remove the pit from it. Place in a jar immediately.
step 3 out of 5
Sort out the cherries, remove the stalks and spoiled berries. Transfer to a colander and rinse thoroughly. Transfer the prepared cherries to a jar to the apricots and fill them with hot water to the very top of the jar. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes.
step 4 out of 5
Drain the jar into a saucepan and bring to a boil again. At this time, add sugar and citric acid to a jar of berries and fruits. Pour boiling water over to the top again. Cover with a lid and leave for half an hour. After half an hour, pour the syrup into a saucepan and bring to a boil again. Pour the compote blank to the very edge of the jar and close the lid tightly.
step 5 out of 5
Let the finished compote cool completely and place in a cool storage place. Try to drink the compote in the first year after seaming.
Bon Appetit!
