Watermelon and melon compote for the winter

The combination of melon and watermelon gives a pleasant refreshing taste. The amount of sugar can be adjusted, since the raw materials may not be very sweet or contain enough sweetness. We give the basic proportions of sugar to ensure high-quality storage of the drink.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Cut the watermelon into pieces, cut the peel from the pulp, try to remove all the seeds. Cut the processed pulp into medium-sized cubes.
step 2 out of 5
We do the same with melon to get cubes of melon pulp.
step 3 out of 5
We cook syrup for compote: pour water into a saucepan and add granulated sugar. Place the saucepan on the stove and bring the syrup to a boil.
step 4 out of 5
Dip the melon and watermelon into the boiling liquid, mix gently, bring to a boil and cook for two to three minutes at a slow boil. At the end, pour in lemon juice. Mix, keep on the stove for a minute, remove.
step 5 out of 5
Wash jars and lids and sterilize in any available way. Pour ready-made compote together with fruit pulp into sterile jars. We roll up the cans with compote with lids, turn them upside down to check the tightness. Let the workpiece cool completely. We put it in a cool dark place for storage.
Bon Appetit!
