Lingonberry compote without sterilization in a liter jar for the winter

The composition of natural lingonberry compote is extremely simple: water, berries and sugar. Nothing extra. Such a drink is an excellent substitute for industrial juices and soda, which children love so much and which, at times, are frightening with their composition. It is important to rinse the berries well and sterilize the container thoroughly so that the compote is well stored.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
To begin with, we sort out the lingonberries from debris, leaves and other accidental inclusions. If there are defective specimens, we remove them so as not to spoil the taste of the compote. Rinse the prepared lingonberries thoroughly in a colander.
step 2 out of 5
We thoroughly wash and sterilize jars with lids in any usual way. Bring water for compote to a boil.
step 3 out of 5
Put the washed lingonberries in a sterile jar. Pour in granulated sugar and pour boiling water over it. We tighten it with a sterile lid.
step 4 out of 5
Turn the jar with compote upside down to check the tightness.
step 5 out of 5
We wrap it with a blanket and in this position we leave it to cool slowly - so the berries will give more taste and the compote is passively sterilized. After cooling, put the compote in a cool dark place.
Bon Appetit!
