Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 11
First, measure the amount of cherries and apples according to the volume of your planned harvest and the recipe, where the calculation is given for one 3-liter jar. Rinse berries and apples well and remove excess moisture with a napkin.
step 2 out of 11
Rinse the jars well in advance and dry or hot sterilize them, but sterilization is not necessary. In a large saucepan, boil water to pour the cherries, and in another, sterilize the lids.
step 3 out of 11
Remove seed pods from apples and chop them into slices of any thickness and size.
step 4 out of 11
Then put the washed cherries and apple slices in jars, filling them by 1/3 of the volume. This option is considered optimal for compote.
step 5 out of 11
With boiling water, carefully so that the jar does not burst, pour the cherry and apple, filling them to the very top.
step 6 out of 11
Then cover the jars with boiled lids and leave for 30 minutes to infuse.
step 7 out of 11
After this time, water from the cans, through a special lid with holes, pour back into the pan, bring it to a boil, add the calculated amount of sugar and boil the syrup for 5 minutes. Add more clean water to the pan at the rate of ½ tbsp. on the jar, since some of it has been absorbed by berries and apples.
step 8 out of 11
Pour the cherry and apple with boiling syrup and again to the very top.
step 9 out of 11
Then seal the cans tightly. 3-liter cans are usually rolled up, since there are almost no large cans for twisting.
step 10 out of 11
Then turn the jars over to the lids and cover with a warm blanket overnight for additional pasteurization of the compote.
step 11 out of 11
Compote with cherry and apple is ready. Store it in a cool, dark place.
Happy and tasty preparations!
