Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
If you buy berries, be sure to check their smell. The sour aroma of blueberries indicates that the berry has begun to deteriorate. Such a product is no longer suitable for making compote. First, we need to process the berries. Pour blueberries into a bowl or wide saucepan. Start sorting through the berries, carefully examining them. All wrinkled, spoiled and unripe blueberries must be removed from the general heap. This process will take a long time, but you cannot skip it. Pour water over the berries. Collect all the leaves and other debris that floats to the surface. To accurately peel the berries, dip a piece of clean cloth into the water and collect any debris with it. After that, rinse the blueberries several times and pour them into a colander. This will drain most of the water from the berries. Spread paper towels on the table and transfer the blueberries to them. Wait until the berries are completely dry.
step 2 out of 5
Arrange dry berries in jars. Their number depends purely on your desire. If you want a more concentrated drink, increase the amount of blueberries. Fill a pot with water. Place it on the stove and wait for the water to boil. Pour boiling water over the blueberries. Let the compote stand for 10-15 minutes. This time will be sufficient, as blueberries are rather small berries.
step 3 out of 5
When the time is up, pour the infusion into a saucepan. Transfer it to fire. Add sugar to the berries. Its amount will depend on how sweet you and your family love compote. However, keeping certain proportions is also important. Boil the solution for 10 minutes. As a result, all the sugar should dissolve.
step 4 out of 5
Pour the almost finished compote into the jars again. Tighten them with lids, which should be scalded with boiling water in advance. Turn the cans over, placing them on top of the lids. Leave them to cool in this position. Then turn the jars over and transfer them to a cool place. It is recommended to store the compote in a closet, cellar or attic. In the apartment, banks can be put on the balcony. There they will be perfectly preserved until winter.
step 5 out of 5
Blueberry compote is ready. This recipe is perfect for you if you consider yourself a lazy person. This compote can be drunk in any weather. Blueberries have medicinal properties that won't harm your body. In winter, the taste of this berry will be more intense and bright. Gather your will in a fist and start cooking!
