Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Before preparing compote, we need to carefully sort out the berries that we will use. To make this process easier, pour the blueberries into a bowl and cover the fruits with water. Various leaves and other debris will have to float to the surface. You can remove it with a piece of some unnecessary cloth. Then change the water. Leave the blueberries in it for about 25 minutes. After that, check the berries for spoiled fruit. They should be removed from the rest of the blueberries. Spread paper towels on the table. Place blueberries on top of them. Towels should absorb all excess moisture that is on the surface of the fruit. Do the same for the lingonberries and place the berries next to the blueberries.
step 2 out of 5
We start processing cans. Rinse them well with baking soda first. You can also use dish soap. Pour some water into the jar. Its height should be approximately 3 centimeters. Place the jar in the microwave for 5 minutes. When the time is up, drain the water and place the jars on a kitchen towel. Place the lids in a plate and cover them with water. Put the dishes in the microwave for 5 minutes as well. Then drain the water and place the lids next to the jars. You can also choose another method of sterilization, for example with steam.
step 3 out of 5
Let's move on to making sugar syrup. For it, we need to pour cold water into a saucepan. Place the dishes on the stove. When the water starts to boil, add granulated sugar to it. Stir the syrup constantly to dissolve the crystals quickly. Then add lemon juice and lemon zest to the solution. These ingredients will give the compote a pleasant aroma. The last ingredient will be citric acid. Thanks to it, your compote will definitely last until winter, and you can enjoy the taste of berries even on the coldest evening. When the syrup is completely cooked, remove the saucepan from the heat.
step 4 out of 5
Distribute the berries to the jars. Pour hot sugar syrup over them. Screw on the caps carefully. Make sure that no damage appears on the surface of the cans. If this situation happens to you, you will have to quickly replace the container. Turn the jars over and place them on a tea towel. In this position, the lids will be subjected to additional heat treatment. If you like, you can wrap the jars in a blanket or blanket. Wait for them to cool completely. Then move them to the coolest, driest place in your home. Try to choose it ahead of time. There the compote will wait for winter.
step 5 out of 5
Blueberry and lingonberry drink is ready. You should definitely try to make such a compote. Its beneficial properties are in no way inferior to modern medicines. Such a drink will be able to support your immunity at any time of the year. Go to the grocery store, buy all the food you need, and start making compote. We wish you good luck!
