Sugar-free blackcurrant compote

I recommend making an aromatic, healthy drink without sugar. Spices and herbs are used to make a wonderful blackcurrant compote. This compote perfectly quenches thirst on a hot summer day and cheers up. For compote, you can use both fresh and frozen black currants.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
Prepare the required ingredients for the sugar-free blackcurrant compote. Sort out the black currants, put in a sieve, rinse thoroughly and let the excess liquid drain. If you use frozen berries like I do, you don't need to defrost them first.
step 2 out of 6
Put a saucepan with the required amount of drinking water over medium heat, bring to a boil, add dried mint and lemon balm. Adjust the amount of herbs yourself. I do not recommend putting a lot, so as not to kill the berry taste.
step 3 out of 6
Then add ground ginger.
step 4 out of 6
Add a cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil again.
step 5 out of 6
Add black currant berries, bring to a boil and cook for about 3-5 minutes. Then remove from heat, cover and cool completely for about 2 hours. Strain the cooled compote through a fine sieve.
step 6 out of 6
Pour aromatic blackcurrant compote without sugar into a beautiful decanter and serve. Store the compote in the refrigerator. The healthy, spicy drink tastes even better when chilled.

Enjoy!
