Blackcurrant and orange compote in a 3-liter jar for the winter

Blackcurrant drink is very useful, as it contains many vitamins and minerals: it improves immunity and metabolism, tones the body, and improves the quality of sleep.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
If you do not have any tools for sterilizing the jar, use a regular kettle. You can also sterilize jars in the oven or microwave. The process itself takes 10 minutes. Be sure to check the jar for cracks before heat treatment, clean and rinse. We subject the lid to boiling water.
step 2 out of 5
First, we wash the currant berries, transfer them to a colander. When the excess liquid drains, remove the twigs and leaves. We also rinse the orange with water and wipe it off. Cut half the fruit into slices. We spread currants on the bottom of the jar. On top of the berries are orange slices.
step 3 out of 5
Pour water into a saucepan and add sugar to it. Bring the syrup to a boil on the stove. We continue to cook the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved.
step 4 out of 5
Pour hot syrup into a jar, which we immediately roll up. We check the tightness of the container by turning it over.
step 5 out of 5
We put the jar in the position upside down and wrap it with a warm blanket. When the compote has cooled down, we transfer the jar for storage to a cooler place - a cellar or a pantry.
Bon Appetit!
