Blackcurrant and cherry compote in a 3-liter jar for the winter

The color of the compote will depend on the proportions in which the berries are prepared. If you wish, you can add lemons or oranges to the drink, although it will be very aromatic without citrus fruits.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Let's start the cooking process by preparing the jar. We need a 3 liter container. Having carefully studied it, we are convinced of the absence of cracks. Then clean with baking soda and rinse. We sterilize the jar with the lid. Now we need a saucepan in order to prepare the syrup. Pour water into it and add sugar. When the liquid comes to a boil, see if the free-flowing ingredient has dissolved.
step 2 out of 5
We wash the berries of currants and cherries. Remove the currants from the twigs and remove the "tails" of the cherries. We also throw out the leaves, rotten and spoiled berries. We transfer both ingredients to a colander.
step 3 out of 5
When the syrup boils and the sugar dissolves, add the berries. We continue to cook the mass until the berries float to the surface of the syrup.
step 4 out of 5
Gently pour the finished drink into a jar. Cover with a lid and roll up tightly so that the juice does not leak.
step 5 out of 5
We finish preparing the compote. Turn the jar over and let it cool at room temperature. We wrap the container with the compote with a blanket.
Bon Appetit!
