Blackberry compote without sterilization in 3-liter jars for the winter

Blackberry compote is much more economical than preparing it in the form of jam, since a rather healthy and tasty drink is obtained from a small volume of berries and sugar. This berry itself is a little sour, so in the compote it is supplemented with other berries and fruits, and more recently with citrus fruits, which improves the taste of the compote and gives it notes of freshness. We cook without sterilization, and the ingredients are sized for a 3-liter jar.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
Peel the blackberry of stalks and small debris, remove soft and damaged berries and then rinse it with cold water. Measure out the amount of sugar indicated in the recipe.
step 2 out of 7
Rinse the orange and lemon well and cut into slices. For a 3-liter jar, one circle of citrus will be enough.
step 3 out of 7
Sterilize jars and lids in advance in any way. Pour prepared blackberries into each jar. On average, the berries should be no more than 1/3 of the jar volume. Then add citrus slices to the blackberry.
step 4 out of 7
Pour sugar directly into each jar.
step 5 out of 7
Boil clean water. Carefully so that the jar does not burst, pour boiling water over the berries, filling them to the very top.
step 6 out of 7
Then immediately seal the jars tightly with sterile lids.
step 7 out of 7
Put jars of blackberry compote on the lids and wrap them for at least 12 hours with a warm blanket. Store the cooled compote in a cool, dark place.
Delicious and successful preparations!
