Pear and apple compote with citric acid for the winter

Homemade compotes are loved by children, besides, they are very useful and rich in vitamins. Pears and apples are always in abundance in the summer at the dacha, therefore compotes are most often prepared from these fruits.

Wash the fruit, cut into wedges and transfer to a saucepan.

Add sugar and a little citric acid to the fruit, thanks to which the compote will become more transparent and acquire a slight sourness.

Pour water into a saucepan and place it on the stove. Cook the compote for 15-20 minutes from the moment it boils.

Wash and sterilize compote jars. Arrange the fruits in jars, then pour boiling water into them to the top.

Roll up the cans with lids. The pear and apple compote is ready for the winter, do not forget to transfer it to a cool cellar for storage.
