Compote from sirgi and cherries for the winter

The berries are poured into a three-liter jar and filled with boiling water. The resulting broth is then boiled in a saucepan with granulated sugar. The syrup is poured back to the berries and the compote is rolled up. After cooling, it is sent to storage in the cellar. It turns out a very tasty and healthy drink.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
To begin with, we sort out the berries of cherries and irgi. We remove all twigs, leaves, rotten fruits and rinse thoroughly under running water. We discard them in a colander and let the water cool completely.
step 2 out of 6
Three-liter jars are well washed with soda and pour berries into them. If desired, you can sterilize in a convenient way, but this step is optional.
step 3 out of 6
We boil the required volume of drinking water and fill it with cherries and irga. Let it stand for at least 20 minutes to get the broth.
step 4 out of 6
Pour all the liquid into a deep saucepan, leaving the berries in the jars. We put on fire, add sugar and mix. Let it boil for a couple of minutes so that the granulated sugar completely dissolves and pour the resulting syrup into the irga with cherries to the brim.
step 5 out of 6
We roll up the compote and turn the cans upside down to check the tightness. We wrap everything in a towel or blanket and leave it to cool completely.
step 6 out of 6
We put the cans with compote in a cool dark place for storage. In winter, we open it, pour it into glasses and enjoy a delicious and healthy drink.
Bon Appetit!
