Strawberry and cherry compote

For lovers of berry drinks, I suggest making a compote from aromatic strawberries and juicy cherries. The compote turns out to be fragrant and very tasty. If your cherries are sour, do not spare granulated sugar. Better then dilute with cold boiled water if there is a lot of sweetness.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
Prepare the necessary ingredients for a flavorful strawberry and cherry compote. Put the cherries in a colander or sieve, rinse thoroughly and let the excess liquid drain.
step 2 out of 7
Then carefully sort the strawberries, cut off the tails, put in a colander or sieve, rinse thoroughly and let the excess liquid drain.
step 3 out of 7
Prepare the jars, wash them thoroughly and sterilize them in the oven, microwave, or water bath. Pour boiling water over the lids or boil in a saucepan. Place strawberries and cherries on the bottom of sterile jars. Fill the jars with berries with pre-prepared boiling water, cover with sterile lids and leave to brew for 10-15.
step 4 out of 7
Drain the water into a saucepan or stewpan.
step 5 out of 7
Add the required amount of granulated sugar. Stir until the crystals are completely dissolved, put on medium heat and bring to a boil.
step 6 out of 7
Pour the resulting syrup over jars of strawberries and cherries. Cover the compote jars and roll up with a seaming machine. Turn the strawberry and cherry compote jars upside down. Leave in this state until completely cooled for about 12 hours, wrapped in a warm blanket.
step 7 out of 7
Then, flip the jars of aromatic and vibrant compote and move to a cool, dark place for long-term storage.

Enjoy!
