Red and black currant compote for the winter

Red and black currant berries give an interesting mix of taste and color. We suggest using this bright vitamin mixture for making compote. During the preparation process, we avoid prolonged heat treatment, which ensures the preservation of the useful properties of the raw material. It is important to thoroughly rinse the berries, as well as sterilize the jars with lids, in order to avoid the risk of damage to the workpiece. The specified amount of ingredients is conveniently used to prepare compote in a 3-liter jar.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 4
We sort out the berries, throw away spoiled specimens, twigs and random garbage. Rinse the currants thoroughly under running water. After washing, place the berries in a colander and let the excess moisture drain.
step 2 out of 4
We pre-wash the jar and the lid, sterilize and dry. We put black and red currants in a jar, pour out granulated sugar in the specified amount.
step 3 out of 4
Bring the water to a boil in a separate saucepan or stewpan. Pour boiling water into a jar with berries and sugar. We roll up the lid.
step 4 out of 4
We turn the jar upside down to check the tightness. We wrap the jar in a blanket and let it cool slowly. We remove the cooled compote for storage in a cool, dark place.

Bon Appetit!
