Red currant compote without sterilization for a 3 liter jar for the winter

Compotes that do not require additional heat treatment, namely sterilization, retain more useful properties and significantly save your time. To prepare such a drink, you will need the very minimum of ingredients, and most importantly, having once tasted currant compote, you will not want to drink purchased juices.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Let's start with the berries. We carefully sort out the red currants, remove the spoiled berries, twigs and leaves. Then we rinse the berries and dry them for a short time, throwing them back into a colander so that excess liquid drains.
step 2 out of 5
We spread the dried berries on the bottom of the sterilized jar and fill it with boiling water, filling the jar to the very neck. Cover the compote with a lid and leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes.
step 3 out of 5
After this time, pour the broth into a clean saucepan, add granulated sugar and stir the contents well. Bring the sweet broth to a boil and cook for a couple of minutes until the sugar grains are completely dissolved.
step 4 out of 5
Without waiting for the sugar syrup to cool, pour it into jars with heated berries and close the compote with a nylon lid.
step 5 out of 5
We recommend storing such compote in the refrigerator for no more than 2-3 months from the date of preparation.
Enjoy your meal!
