Red currant and strawberry compote in a 3-liter jar for the winter

Despite the fact that the compote is prepared in summer, it will wait for winter without any problems, unless of course your loved ones rush to empty the jars. After all, it is difficult to resist the aroma of strawberries and red currants. At the same time, these berries perfectly retain their previous taste, color, shape, which in no case will spoil the appearance of the drink.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
We cut off the tails of the strawberries, and we wash the berries themselves well so that there is no sand or earth on them. If necessary, the berries can be soaked for literally five minutes.
step 2 out of 5
Currants can be added with or without twigs. The main thing is that the berries must be thoroughly washed and dried.
step 3 out of 5
At this stage, we sterilize the jars and lids separately. Then put strawberries on the bottom of the cans first, and on top of them - red currants. Pour boiling water over the entire contents and leave it alone for a while.
step 4 out of 5
After about 10 minutes, pour the water from the cans into a saucepan, add sugar and boil the syrup for 2-3 minutes. Then turn off the fire and pour boiling water into the jars.
step 5 out of 5
We cover the compote with a lid and sterilize the jar with the compote for 15 minutes in a saucepan, on the bottom of which you should put a cloth or towel and fill with very warm water so that when the jar with very hot compote is immersed, it does not burst. Cool the sterilized compote and send it to the pantry for storage. In winter, you will definitely be pleased with a glass of such a vitamin drink and will give you an incredible charge of cheerfulness and positiveness.
Enjoy your meal!
