With a pleasant sour currant and cherry flavor, the drink not only quenches thirst well, but also replenishes the body with vitamins, which is important in winter. The compote is prepared by a single pouring method, and the jars must be clean and sterile. You can choose the proportion of berries according to your taste preferences, and sugar is added to the compote according to the recipe. The recipe is simple and convenient for harvesting a large number of berries.

For compote, choose strong ripe currants and cherries and preferably freshly picked, as cherries quickly turn sour.

Carefully remove the stalks from the cherries. Then rinse the berries in a colander under running water. Separate the red currants from the twigs and rinse in the same way as the cherries.

Jars with red currant and cherry compote tightly cover for 1 day with a warm blanket and only then transfer to storage in a dark, cool place.
